Early photos of Roebourne

Click on the images below to see much larger versions. In the larger versions you can see lovely details of the Roebourne buildings. The town would have looked similar in 1885.

In the photo below, to the left of all the buildings, is the two story Victoria Hotel with it’s verandahs. It was built in 1893 to replace the former hotel which was really just a small, two bedroom cottage. You can also see the three arches of the second Union Bank of Australia that was built in 1888 in Roe Street.
